CNC COMPASSIONATE LISTENING CIRCLES

The CNC Education Team is inviting you to a unique experience called a
Compassionate Listening Circle. In today's divided world, we believe these circles can be duplicated in congregations and provide opportunities for people to connect their faith and politics in a safe environment that focuses on listening, not debating. We think these circles will create empathy and mutual appreciation for those who participate.

We're hosting two Zoom circles:

Once registered, come prepared to share your thoughts on both of the following questions:

1. Thinking about your childhood, adolescence and various phases of adulthood, what experiences shaped you politically?

2. How has your faith informed your politics?

(Participants will be invited to share their own answers to these two questions. Interruptions, follow-up questions, comments, or arguments will not be allowed. Our intention is to provide a safe environment for people to reflect on their own political journeys and listen attentively and compassionately to others' journeys.)

Those who participate in a circle and wish to host a circle(s) in their congregation will be provided with the lesson plan and further support.
